Clare Passingham, Chacolinks' Secretary and founder, is planning to retire this autumn, though still remaining as a trustee for a while longer. Chacolinks was founded at the end of 1999 in response to the incessant pressures endured by the Wichi of the Itiyuro Basin in northern Argentina. Those pressures have not lessened, but Chacolinks is still working hard to protect the land and human rights of the Wichi. Clare is appealing for funds to allow the Wichi themselves to be able to travel in support of their land rights claims. In addition, the funds raised may also be used for emergency medical care. She has set up a fundraising page, which is to be found at: www.justgiving.com/ClaresRetirement Please give generously!
